The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has engaged in discussions with members of the diplomatic corps in Accra, focusing on Ghana’s pending election.
In a post on his X page on Saturday, October 26, 2024, he stated, “I held insightful discussions with twenty-four members of the diplomatic corps in Accra last Thursday. The meeting, hosted by U.S. Ambassador Virginia Palmer, allowed us to address the NDC's concerns about Ghana's electoral process, rising corruption, and the worrying direction of our country’s democracy."
He was joined by key officials of the party, including the National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary Fifi Kwetey, and Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.
He described the meeting as frank and productive, stressing the need for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
He also reaffirmed his vision for a prosperous and equitable Ghana and the NDC's commitment to strengthening the country’s democratic institutions.
"I am encouraged by the diplomatic community's interest in Ghana and their dedication to supporting our democratic and developmental journey. Their insights and perspectives are crucial as we work together to build the Ghana we want for all Ghanaians,” he added.
