The National Democratic Congress says it has secured an interlocutory injunction on the re-collation of results from the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency.
This was disclosed by the Head of the Legal Directorate of the NDC, Edudzi Tameklo, who has called for a halt to the re-collation process ongoing at the Tesano Police Station in Accra.
The Electoral Commission on Thursday, December 11, 2024, suspended the re-collation process with the view of continuing on Friday, December 13.
However, the process, as per the claim by Edudzi Tameklo, will not proceed as planned due to the injunction placed on it.
“We have served the Electoral Commission with an application for an interlocutory injunction to prevent the Electoral Commission from doing what they are doing. That process has been served on the EC,” he said.
Edudzi’s claim was, however, contested by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, who maintains that neither the EC nor the NPP has been served with the writ.
He doubted the authenticity of the injunction, insisting no such relief has been granted by the court.
“If there’s an injunction, as a lawyer, I know the processes. Where is the bailiff? At the end of the day, is he an officer of the law? So, if there is indeed an injunction, the officers here will certainly be called and told. You cannot take a concocted injunction from the NDC,” Justin Frimpong Kodua noted.
