The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, widely renowned for his love for technology and innovations, has decided to incorporate high technology in his Presidential campaign.

In a first for Africa, and one of few pioneer moves in the world, the Presidential Candidate of the ruling NPP, has introduced an AI chat box to communicate with voters on a national scale.

The Bawumia Campaign, which has already made the innovation public, says through the platform, voters can engage with Dr. Bawumia and ask him anything about his plans for this country, and he will in turn respond.

To interact with Dr. Bawumia digitally through the AI chat box, voters can go to their browser and enter www.bawumiagpt.com, which will enable them to talk to Bawumia and understand his plans for his country.

Deploying AI as a positive campaign tool is rare globally, as the technology has rather been used negatively to discredit and defame opponents.

Globally, only a few politicians have adopted it as a positive campaign tool to advance their own campaign in very limited roles, such as US Democratic Congressional Candidate Shamaine Daniels and Pakistan's Imran Khan, who deployed it one-off to address a virtual rally.

Dr. Bawumia's personalised, national-scale deployment of the AI chat box as a major feature of his campaign is a rare move globally and certainly the first on the African continent.
