At the Blessed Assurance Polling Center in Chorkor, part of the Ablekuma South Constituency, chaos erupted during voting as numerous voters discovered irregularities in the voters' register. The discrepancies ranged from missing names to mismatched photographs and errors in personal details, leaving many frustrated and angry.
Voters began to notice these issues early in the day, as some found their names missing from the register despite possessing valid voter ID cards.
As these problems surfaced, tensions escalated, leading to one woman threatening to rain curses if nothing was done by the officials to address the situation.
Amid the confusion, several voters accused the Electoral Commission of failing to conduct a thorough verification of the voters' register before the election.
The Electoral Commission has not yet issued a formal statement on the incident, but this disruption underscores the critical importance of a transparent and accurate voters' register to ensure free and fair elections.
