Emmanuel Senyo Amekplenu, the Dean of the Crusaders for the New Patriotic Party, has implored appointees of the current government to actively involve themselves in the party’s campaign to retain power.
According to him, the recent brouhaha in Parliament over which side of the House is the Majority should be a motivation for every member of the party to come on board to ensure a decisive win for the party come December 7.
“My appeal is particularly to the ministers and the CEOs. Remember that if we don’t have power, you cannot be a CEO, and if we don’t have power, you cannot be a minister. So if you want to remain a CEO or a deputy minister, I am pleading with you to get to the grounds and work. We have less than 30 days to the election. Don’t sit in the office and say you are receiving calls or responding to letters. Dr. Bawumia’s votes are not for the giving,” he stated during an appearance on Top FM’s Final Point programme.
He lauded a host of party executives and government officials for distinguishing themselves through their active participation in the ongoing campaign.
Ghana is left with a few weeks to elect a new president and parliamentary representatives. With 13 candidates approved by the Electoral Commission for the presidential election, the race is set to be between Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as flagbearer of the NPP and former President John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The Crusaders for NPP is a volunteer group dedicated to advocating the cause of the New Patriotic Party.
