A member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Multi-Stakeholder Working Group, Rev. Canon Dr. Confidence Bansah, has made a call on the youth pending the 2024 elections.
He urged them to commit to preserving peace before, during, and after the elections, by respecting the established electoral processes.
Dr. Bansah emphasized the importance of eliminating acts of violence and resolving disputes amicably, without resorting to aggression.
"We want to urge the youth to resolve to preserve peace before, during, and after the elections by respecting the electoral processes in place. They must do well to eliminate acts of violence and try to resolve disputes amicably and without violence.
"The beauty of democracy lies in allowing people to be who they truly are in all their endeavours and in granting them the freedom to contribute to development," he shared on X.
Dr. Bansah cautioned that anything less will undermine the cherished principles that the country's democracy is built upon.
