The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, looks to be losing her parliamentary seat in the Ablekuma West constituency in the 2024 elections.

The National Democratic Congress' Rev Kwaku Addo has reportedly taken an early lead in the collation process, which is currently underway.

Of the 145 polling stations collated so far from the total of 224, the incumbent, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, is trailing Rev Kwaku Addo by over 4,000 votes.

Ursula has polled 16,304 votes, while Rev Kwaku Addo has 20,444 votes.

Results declaration is underway following the closure of polls at 5 pm across most of the polling centres in the country.

The 2024 elections took place across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful. Pockets of violence have, however, been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.

The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
