2024 Ghana Teachers Prize: 42-year-old kindergarten teacher wins top honor

Madam Fuseini Fuseina, a 42-year-old kindergarten teacher from Madina Seventh Day Adventist Basic School, has been crowned the most outstanding teacher at the 2024 Ghana Teachers Prize.

Her innovative and tireless efforts to educate students at the KG level earned her this prestigious award.

Madam Fuseina was awarded a three-bedroom house worth 500,000 cedis, while other recipients received vehicles.

Diana Rose Elorm from Aburi Girls SHS received a saloon car as the first runner-up, and Mr. Adomako Richard from Uddara Basic School in the Ashanti Region received a Nissan 4x4 pickup as the second runner-up.

Dr. William Kwabena Nantwi from Offinso College of Education won a 4x4 vehicle as the best college of education tutor.

Around 30 teachers from across Ghana were honored at the event held at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on October 5, 2024.

Dr. Addai Mensah, Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), commended Ghanaian teachers for their contributions to the country's development and pledged continued support.

Education Minister Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum reiterated the government's commitment to improving education, highlighting the NPP government's significant investments in the sector.

He assured that the next NPP government will continue to prioritize teachers in policy development and implementation.
