Former presidential hopeful for the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyepong, has disclosed that the partnership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is formidable enough to secure victory for the NPP in December.

Speaking to GhanaWeb’s reporter following the unanimous approval of NAPO as running mate, the former general secretary of the party endorsed the candidacy of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh saying, the council’s acceptance of Dr Opoku Prempeh proves he is the best choice to partner Dr Bawumia.

According to him, the council and members of the party have welcomed the decision and given them their blessing which will surely help the party break the 8.

“The council unanimously accepted the nomination from the flagbearer, and everybody is giving them their blessing. We think it’s a formidable ticket which will stand as a good step towards the coming election,” he told GhanaWeb.

Meanwhile, President Akufo Addo is highly optimistic that his party will break the 8 against all odds.

Expressing his excitement following NAPO’s approval, President Akufo Addo said, “National Council has endorsed the nomination of Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh to be the running mate of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The NPP has an excellent ticket and we’re going to win with this ticket on 7th December 2024, that’s the news. The feeling is good, they make a very good pair, and they are going to win.”
