Police in Begoro will arraign in court today the twenty-two suspects arrested over the shooting of two police officers at Akomasu.
The officers who had gone to the community to arrest some suspects last week were allegedly attacked and shot by residents of the community.
The Police subsequently raided the farming community on September 17, at dawn leading to the arrest of a total of 26 inhabitants.
However, four of them, including women were granted Police inquiry bail hours after their arrest.
The Assembly Member for the area Isaac Bokutey told Starr News some of the suspects were unlawfully arrested and must be released.
“I think not all of them committed the crime and since they have the perpetrators, the innocent ones should be released because some were unlawfully arrested; not all of them were involved and now that the truth is out, the rest should be allowed to go”.
