New Patriotic Party’s Women’s Organiser, Otiko Afisah Djaba has assured Ghanaians that the party will fulfill its manifesto promise of empowering more women in the public sector during the Akufo-Addo administration.

Madam Otiko Djaba reiterated that a minimum of 30% of the ministerial appointments will be given to women by the NPP. This, she said will ensure more attention given to issues concerning women and children in the country.

“For accelerated development, we need to have the voices of women represented in Parliament and other leadership roles, and that is what the New Patriotic Party is about…” the NPP Women’s Organiser noted.

“We’re also going to give a minimum of 50% of the MASLOC funds to women and ensure that Kayayes are given the relevant skills. The one-village-one dam project will ensure that we’ll send them back home because food insecurity will be a thing of the past, disabled men and women and children. Children with special problems, we’re going to look at them, the free education…” Madam Otiko Djaba added.

She was speaking to journalists after the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo’s first official meeting with the Party’s National Executive Council (NEC) to deliberate on the way forward for the NPP.
