The Kpeshie Divisional Police Command has arrested 31 suspected criminals believed to be terrorizing residents of the area.
The suspects between the ages of 18 and 40 years were nabbed Friday dawn at their various hideouts within La, Teshie, Cantonments, Osu and Nungua.
The arrest, according to the Kpeshie Divisional Police Commander, ACP Victor Gyan Kyereko, was part of efforts to rid the area of criminal activities.
He said of late there had been incidents of robberies within the area, and as part of proactive measures to curb the menace, there was the need to break through the dens of criminals to clear the suspects from the system.
“When the suspects were nabbed, some were found with some quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp concealed in the pockets.”
ACP Gyan Kyereko said the suspects would be screened and those found culpable would be processed for court.
The Kpeshie Divisional Commander called on individuals to help the police by volunteering information leading to the arrest of criminals.
