The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, describing him as a "legacy president" for prioritising the welfare of police officers.

Speaking at the inauguration of 320 homes for the police service at the Tesano Police Training School, the IGP highlighted several contributions made by President Akufo-Addo since taking office.

Dr. Dampare noted that the president has significantly bolstered police logistics, providing numerous resources, including over 4,000 motorbikes distributed nationwide.

He said that under President Akufo-Addo's leadership, policing has reached communities previously without police presence, thereby reducing crime and making Ghana one of the most peaceful countries in the world.

Moreover, the IGP mentioned the establishment of 181 regionally formed police units, each comprising an average of 35 police officers equipped with vehicles and motorbikes, strategically positioned across the country.

This initiative, spearheaded by President Akufo-Addo, has enhanced the operational capacity of the police service and improved security nationwide.
