Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated that out of 100,000 people who were enrolled in the Nations Builders Corps (NABCO), 34,000 of the personnel have been given full-time employment.
He made this known when he met the press in Accra on August 25, 2024.
The Vice President said "The programme had about 100,000 people on it. I think initially it was supposed to be a three-year program, then it would be renewed, and so on.
I think that so far, out of 100,000 that were enrolled, 34,000 have exited into permanent jobs under NABCO,” he said.
On the payment of arrears with the payment of personnel under NABCO, he indicated that the issue has come to his attention and he is working on it.
The Vice President indicated “I have raised this issue. This is an information that has come to me already and I’ve raised this issue with the Minister for Finance and trying to persuade them to make these arrears payment so we will follow that up,” he said.
