Kwame Dwima-Sreso (Ash), Sept 25, GNA - Thirty-seven communities in the Atwima-Mponua District that have paid their counterpart funding of GH=A2250 (2.5 million cedis) are to be provided with electricity and boreholes.
Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, the District Chief Executive, said this at the inauguration of a GH=A225,000 (250 million cedi) teachers' quarters funded by the district assembly at Kwame Dwima-Sreso. He said so far 30 teachers' quarters had been built in the district to solve accommodation problems facing teachers in deprived areas.
He appealed to members of the School Management Committees (SMCs) and Parent/Teacher Associations (PTAs) to co-operate with teachers to impart quality education and discipline to the pupils. Mr Owusu-Ansah warned that any parent found assaulting a teacher for disciplining his child would not be spared. Nana Tweneboa Kodua, chief of the town, commended the assembly for the project and appealed for building materials to enable the community to complete the junior high school that is under construction. Mr Owusu-Ansah also inaugurated another teachers' quarters at Gyereso and presented solar lamps to the teachers.
