Until his demise, Alhaji Bature served as the Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper – a position he has occupied for many years now. There is no doubt that Ghana has lost a true trailblazer in the media fraternity with the loss of Alhaji Bature.

1. He was 60 years

The late Alhaji Bature was 60 years old before he passed on. The known National Democratic Congress (NDC) member spent majority of his life in Ghana but at a point moved to America to start a different course.

2. He is the founder of the Al-Hajj newspaper

Many people knew Alhaji Bature as the Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper. However, the outspoken journalist was more than just that. He was actually the founder of the newspaper, which he started many years ago.

3. He died of stroke

The veteran journalist was reportedly battling with stroke before he passed on. Sources close to his family say he once collapsed in a bathroom during the Christmas festivities. He was subsequently rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he died on Friday.

4. He grew up in Nima

The late Alhaji Bature considered himself a Nima boy. He had his formative years in the crowded town after a brief stint in the Upper East region. He actually started numerous businesses in Nima before ultimately beginning his political and media career.
