40-year old man drowns in a well

Winneba (C/R) June 22, GNA- Kwodwo Bondze Adu, 40, got drown in a deep well near the South Campus of the University of Education Winneba, when he attempted to retrieve a bucket from it on Wednesday

Mr Nicholas Gasu, Winneba District Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview, at Winneba that the deceased went to fetch water from the well in the morning when the tragedy occurred. Mr Bartholomew Nketiah, District Fire Office said it took a team of fire and police personnel about one and half hours to pump water from the well before retrieving the body. The body has been deposited at the Winneba Government hospital for autopsy.
