Suspected female narcotic drug peddler has been arrested by Ghana police service in Tamale.

The suspect Nawaratu Rauf believed to be in her forties was arrested on the spot while having business deals with some notorious gangsters.

Nawaratu, after successfully escaping from the police on three attempts, was finally arrested for possession of dried leaves wrapped in papers suspected to be “Indian Hemp.”

The operation occurred on Tuesday, November, 28.

According to the police, they would prosecute the culprit in court after a thorough investigation was done on her deals.

The Northern Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Mohammed Yussif Tanko, who disclosed this to the media said, “The suspects will be screened and when found guilty would face the law accordingly.”

“The Christmas season had become important for the police to carry out special operations in Tamale to be able to root out criminals from their hidden quarters.”

“We are not relaxing till there is safety in Tamale”, he stressed.
