All five persons including a woman who robbed occupants of an orphanage home at new Ningo in the Greater Accra region have been arrested by the police.
The suspected in December last year armed with pistols, a short gun, a harmer and machetes stormed the orphanage Home and succeeded in robbing their victims of an unspecified amount of foreign and local currencies, 6 difference type of mobile phones including iPhone and subjected some of the victims to severe beatings and left them to their fate.
A report was made to Prampam Police and it was later detected that there was an attempt to break into one of the iPhone which led to a number being sent to the owner’s gmail account.
Police took the number tracked and traced to Kwame Nkrumah Circle where they succeeded in arresting the initial 2 suspects.
Further investigations revealed that it was someone who brought the phones to be decoded from Bolgatanga in the Upper East region and was also traced and arrested.
The accomplices of the robbery were named leading to their arrest at about 11pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018
Three foreign pistols, one short gun and ammunitions were retrieved from them. They are currently in police detention awaiting to be arraigned before court.
