50th anniversary must unite Ghana towards economic emancipation.

Ho, Jan. 01, GNA- The Reverend Esau Amezado, Deputy General Overseer of the Redeem Evangel Church in Ho on Monday called on Ghanaians to use the country's 50th anniversary celebrations to unite towards economic emancipation.

He said national reconciliation was needed to break the yoke of socio-economic bondage in which the country found itself. Reverend Amezado was delivering a New Year message to the Church at a watch night service.

He said the country looked forward to unity among its leaders as the most befitting 50th anniversary birthday gift to its citizenry. " God's favour is still on us and can set us free from all bondages if we are united", he said.

At the Evangelic Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Michael Koblavi Torsah, Head Pastor of the Church cautioned Christians to end their fruitless search for peace by straying away from the Christian faith. He said it was important to know that there shall be no peace in the world except in Christ Jesus.

Reverend Torsah urged Christians to build their faith and confidence in God and not be distracted by the country's present economic situations.

" Strong winds of economic hardships will blow but believe that God's peace will hold the storm", he said. Reverend Torsah appealed to the country's leaders to build the confidence of the youth in the country by tackling the dual problems of the educational system and unemployment. 01-01-07
