The Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President of Ghana, Nadia Musah has revealed that President Nana Akufo-Addo has employed 55 Ghanaians from the Diaspora to responsible positions in his government since he came to power in 2017. Nadia was speaking in Toronto on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ghana Diaspora Youth Forum organized by the Youth Wing of the Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO) in collaboration with the government of Ghana.
The Deputy Director in her contribution to the panel discussion at the forum emphatically and passionately pleaded with Ghanaians in Diaspora to support Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration to move our country Ghana forward.
She pointed out that the President of Ghana has trust in Ghanaians in Diaspora and that the President is open to ideas and contributions from Ghanaians abroad in fulfilling his mandate to develop Ghana further. It is in view of this that an Office for Diaspora Affairs has been established at the Office of the President.
“We at the Diaspora Affairs Office are to foster easy access and give directions to Ghanaians in Diaspora who come or are willing to help Ghana in diverse ways. Come and we will connect you to the right people and sources in Ghana,” she said with confidence.
Jake Obeng-Bediako who is the Youth Ambassador for Diaspora Affairs, and Hon. Sesh, the Consul General of Ghana in Toronto.
Attendance at this forum was fantastic with over 50 youth ranging from international students to young entrepreneurs from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Kudos to the Youth Wing of GCAO who organized the forum!
