The Swedru Police Command has reportedly arrested eight persons for removing a billboard featuring the parliamentary candidate for Agona East Constituency, Hannah Asamoah, and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to a report by EDHUB, the billboard was removed at Mankrong Nkwanta on the orders and supervision of some town chiefs and elders.
A video of the removal shows two men digging beneath the billboard's footings with a shovel and pickaxe.
A voice behind the video is also heard accusing the current Member of Parliament of the area of instigating the removal of the billboard.
As the removal took place, some of the chiefs and elders could be seen sitting close by.
