Ghanaians have declared their intentions to fight corruption to its core, according to the latest Afrobarometer report.

The report indicates that Ghanaians enthusiastically support the idea that government officials who indulge in all sorts of corrupt practices must be duly dealt with.

Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mrs Linda Ofori-Kwafo, who made the projection at a public lecture held in Accra said although successive governments have made efforts to minimize corruption, more needs to be done to deal with the canker.

She said Ghanaians have now become very much aware of the negative impacts of corruption.

“86 per cent of almost 18,000 people surveyed said they are ready to contribute towards corruption fight. I believe them because they have become very much aware of its impacts. We have avenues and people through which we can successfully fight the canker. Let’s encourage ourselves. If you are a victim of corruption, don’t be scared to voice it out,” she added.
