The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak has said that President Akufo-Addo's administration has done virtually nothing to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians one year into office.

According to the MP, Akufo-Addo’s State of the Nation's Address to parliament was just a repetition of his 2016 campaign promises.

Sharing his reaction with Accra-based Citi FM, the minority Chief Whip said a kindergarten kid when given same resources handed over to Akufo-Addo can deliver better than the NPP.

“One year down the lane the president is still telling us things he in turns to do, where is the one village one dam? We all heard him saw he’s now going to do it. This was said in last year", he said. The NDC MP who was clearly not inspired in his conversation insisted that Akufo-Addo’s 2018 address was nothing but a mere repetition of promises.

“Akufo-Addo talked about discussions, discussions, discussions. One year into power you’re still talking about discussions,” the MP said. Alhaji Muntaka alleged that the NPP government is simply diverting Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET FUND), to pay teacher and nursing trainee allowances.

“They are using GET Fund money to pay teachers. If governance was all about then even a class one chap can easily do that, GET Fund money was supposed to be used to build class room blocks and not to pay teachers” he said.

President Akufo-Addo per his constitutional mandate on Thursday, February 8, 2018 presented his State Of the Nations Address to Parliament. However, some Minority Members of Parliament believe the president’s address does not capture the reality on the ground.
