A teacher defiles 10 year-old girl

Tema, Nov. 19, GNA - A teacher at Zenu near Ashaiman, who used the Moslem holiday to lure a 10-year-old school girl sent to buy bread for breakfast and defiled her in a classroom has been remanded into custody by the Tema circuit court "B".

David Dugbazah Meriana Abukari pleaded not guilty to a charge of defilement of a 10-year-old girl will reappear on December 2, 2004. Police Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor, prosecuting, told the court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on November 15, this year, at 7.30 a.m., the victim was sent by the uncle to buy bread for their breakfast.

Inspector Nutakor said on the victim's way, the accused who was in the school invited her and when she went, he opened a classroom, dragged her there, locked the door and forcibly had sex with her two times.

She said when the girl went back home she narrated her ordeal to her uncle who immediately reported the case to the Ashaiman Police. A medical form was issued to her to go to hospital for treatment and after investigations the accused was charged with the offence.
