A total of 483,977 Ghana cedis paid as NHIS claims in Adansi North

Fomena (Ash), Aug 19, GNA - The Adansi North District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) has paid 483,977 Ghana cedis as claims as at May ending.

Mr Peter Kwabena Ameyaw, the District Chief Executive who was speaking at an assembly meeting at Fomena, said the scheme had so far registered 42,848 people out of which 37,389 had been issued with identity cards.

He said pay point kiosks have been erected at vantage points to reduce the ordeal people go through in accessing the scheme in the district.

On HIV/AIDS, Mr Ameyaw said the Ghana AIDS Commission had transferred 175,225 Ghana cedis into the assembly's account for the implementation of activities by three Community-based Organisations (CBOs) and two non-governmental organizations to help improve the sensitization efforts of the assembly in reducing the pandemic in the district.
