Black Stars coach Otto Addo has called on his players to maintain their current performance levels as they prepare for their next AFCON 2025 qualifying match against Sudan in Libya.

Despite a goalless draw in their first encounter with Sudan, Addo remains optimistic that the team can secure a crucial win in the return leg.

Addo emphasised that football is unpredictable but urged his squad to remain focused and continue giving their best effort.

“This is football. I cannot even assure [my life]. Maybe God will take my life tomorrow. We will try our best, and I know that at the end, we will be rewarded,” Addo said.

While acknowledging that a win might not guarantee qualification, Addo pointed out that the team must remain determined.

“We can win the next game and still not qualify. We have a long way to go. It’s going to be tough, but with this performance, we will do it in Libya against Sudan,” he added.

Ghana will travel to Libya for the return leg of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers on Monday, October 14, 2024, where the Black Stars will aim to claim their first victory and strengthen their chances of advancing to the tournament.
