The spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has urged the Black Stars to give their best performance in their upcoming match against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

According to Asante Twum, the days when certain teams were considered easy to beat are long gone, as many previously underrated teams have significantly improved in recent years.

He emphasized that the Black Stars must approach the match with passion and seriousness if they are to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON, which will be held in Morocco.

Asante Twum further stressed the importance of winning against Sudan, especially after the Black Stars failed to capitalize on numerous chances in their first-leg match at the Accra Sports Stadium, which ended in a disappointing draw.

“There are no minnows in football anymore. Teams we used to think were easy to beat have now improved tremendously,” Asante Twum was quoted by happyghana.com.

“The boys know we need to secure all three points against Sudan, and the only way to do that is by fighting,” he added.

The Black Stars' goalless draw against Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers has left them with only two points from three matches.

The second leg against Sudan will take place in Libya on October 15, 2024.
