The much publicised meeting between the “fake” AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah and the Ghana AIDS Commission has ended, StarrFMonline.com can confirm.
According to Starr News' Sika Yabani, Dzidzor was "whisked into a car" by a man, believed to be her lawyer, immediately after the meeting.
Mensah has been making the headlines this week after disclosing on a private TV station that she has never been an HIV patient although she acted as an ambassador since 2007. She has prominently been the face in the fight against the menace while moving round Ghana to tell her touching story and how she has been dealing with the disease.
Her revelation has put the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) in a bad light, compelling the Commission to issue a statement hours after her claims that she indeed tested positive before being put on the campaign.
According to a director at the GAC, Golda Asante, the ex-ambassador has been summoned to help with investigations into the issue.
“We just want to interact with her and then we will continue our investigation,” Asante told TV 3. “We just want to understand her.”
Meanwhile, Mensah’s ex-husband has debunked her story, saying she has taken to her current stance to protect her children who are suffering stigmatisation in society.
