Koforidua, July 21, GNA - The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the All Nations University (ANU) at Koforidua, has commended the government for its support to students of accredited private universities to access the student's loan scheme run by the Social Security and National lnsurance Trust(SSNIT).
They noted that the inclusion of private tertiary institutions, especially ANU would help students get recognised and inspired to give the best to the country in future.
The Interim President of the SRC of ANU, Mr Samuel Oppong-Boadi, who made the commendation at a press conference at Koforidua on Monday said the gesture also demonstrates Government's commitment to help increase access to Ghanaians to acquire quality education as the basis to accelerate the development process in the country.
He praised the Government's policy to support final year students pursuing degree course in Business Administration who are interested in establishing their own enterprises with a special loan scheme.
This, Mr Oppong-Boadi explained, shows "the government's commitment to set up a firm foundation for growth of businesses as an engine to propel Ghana's economic prosperity."
Mr Oppong-Boadi appealed to the Government to extend the facility to other business related courses like computer science, which has become "a bed fellow of any serious entrepreneurial endeavour."
