AU DAY Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE joins Teachers to celebrate

It was all full of joy and happiness again when the President's representative in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality stormed the Tarkwa T&A stadium to grace the maiden A.U Teachers inter-circuit Gala Games on Friday, May, 25th,2018.

The theme for the celebration of the 2018 AU Day was "Winning the Fight Against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa's Transformation" places a sacred duty and call on all leaders across the continent to also make bold and courageous sacrifices to battle the scourges of Corruption as has bedevilled the Continent the last couple of years.

Although the African Continent is politically liberated today, 55years after the establishment of African Union, a lot still needs to be done in the areas of Economic liberation. The peoples of Africa today battle extreme Hunger, Poverty, Unemployment, Insecurity and Corruption, all of which calls for concerted and pragmatic actions and decisions by the Leaders of the various African Countries.

He used the occasion to encourage the teachers in his Municipality and pleaded with them to do their best to uplift the image of the Municipality to the highest pedestal. A sum of One Thousand Ghana cedis cash (¢1000.00) was donated by Hon K.D Asmah as part of his quota to help build the relationship between the education Directorate and the Assembly and also to show his commitment to duty.

The Education Director Mr. Alex Duah on behalf of the Education Directorate and the entire teachers in the Municipality expressed appreciation to the Management and staff of Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly and thanked the MCE for honoring their invitation.
