The African Women’s Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) Ghana has extended its felicitations to Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on becoming Ghana’s first female Vice-President.

The achievement marks a significant milestone towards gender equality and empowerment, the organization said.

A statement signed by Ms. Bernice Abbeyquaye, President of AWEP Ghana, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday, described the Vice-President’s achievement as a testament to her exceptional leadership and commitment to public service.

“On behalf of AWEP Ghana, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Her Excellency Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on her historic election as the first female Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana,” it stated.

“This groundbreaking achievement is a testament to her exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to public service.”

The statement further noted that the achievement proved that the highest offices were within reach for those who dared to lead with integrity and vision.

AWEP expressed confidence that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s tenure would champion causes deeply important to women across diverse backgrounds.

“We trust her leadership will amplify the voices of women and address the structural barriers that have historically limited their full participation in economic development,” the statement added.

AWEP said it looks forward to working closely with the Vice-President to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development for women-led businesses.
