The Justice Emile Short Commission tasked with probing the circumstances leading to the shooting incident and Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence will begin work today.
The commission was constituted by the presidency and sworn in last week by the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The committee is expected to among others, identify persons responsible for the violence and recommend sanctions where appropriate.
Dr Bawumia lauded composition of the commission, noting “I don’t know anyone who can really question the integrity of the commission.”
The Commission is chaired by former Commissioner of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Justice Emile Short, and includes law professor, Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu and former IGP Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong.
Ernest Kofi Abotsi is Secretary to the Commission.
