Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has emphasised the importance of the New Patriotic Party reflecting on their loss in the recently ended general elections.

In the aftermath of the party’s disappointing loss in the general elections, Ofosu Nkansah expressed his frustration over how the ruling party failed to focus on their strongholds, where the majority of their votes originated.

According to him, the government made several unpardonable mistakes, which he believes contributed to their loss in the various strongholds as a form of punishment.

Ofosu Nkansah specifically pointed out how the government, in its road construction plans, neglected and abandoned its strongholds in the Western and Ashanti Regions, while focusing solely on completing interchanges in Accra and Tamale, leaving projects in their strongholds uncompleted.

He stated that reflecting on the factors that led to their loss would provide valuable lessons, which could aid in the party’s revival, reform, and improvement of its image, ultimately increasing their chances in the next general elections if they hope to have a winning opportunity.

“Some mistakes we made as a government ... Completing interchanges in Accra and Tamale and leaving interchanges in our strongholds (Kumasi and Takoradi) uncompleted. Hope we have learned lessons,” he posted on Facebook on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

His comments echo similar sentiments expressed by several party members following their defeat to the National Democratic Congress in the December elections.
