Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, has indicated that the NDC under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama, failed to deliver on their promised 200 E-block schools.

Baako stated that the NDC administration, could not even build 50 of those school blocks according to the Handing Over Notes available to the Presidential Transition Team.

“They promised 200 E-block schools in four years [but] they were able to build less than 40 E-block schools. In their handing over notes, they wrote 47 E-block schools; 23 out of the 47 were funded by World Bank but it was during their tenure so you have to give it to [credit] them,” Baako said on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ Morning Show on Wednesday, June 17.

The revelation by Kweku Baako contradicts Okudzeto-Ablakwa’s comments on Good Evening Ghana (GEG) the previous day, Tuesday, June 16.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu MP and former deputy education minister, in discussing the incumbent NPP’s “failed promises” noted that the NDC administration under John Dramani Mahama invested heavily in social and human capital.

According to him, the NDC, for the education sector, “promised 200 Senior High Schools” and at the time they were leaving office on January 7, 2017, “50 fully completed” so-called E-block secondary schools were handed over to the incoming NPP administration.

“We started 124. I was in the sector so I’m well [versed in] these matters,” Okudzeto Ablakwa told Paul Adom-Otchere, the GEG host.
