The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly has presented various items to the physically challenged in the municipality to empower them and alleviate some of their problems. The program, organized by the Social Welfare and Community Development Department (SWCD) of the Assembly, is the second of its kind this year.

At a brief ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon George Cyril Bray, said the donation was intended to help realize goals 5, 8, and 10 of the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Items worth about GH¢ 90,000, ranging from deep freezers, industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, baking ovens, desktop computers, among others, were donated to about 90 persons with disability at the event.

The SWCD further registered about a 140 persons within the Municipality, and is looking forward to registering more members. The program was held at the Gbegbeyise Basic School, within the Old Assembly premises.
