Abodakpi assures Zongo Caucus of active inclusion

Dan Abodakpi, aspiring National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has given a strong assurance to the Zongo Caucus of the party that they would not be neglected under his chairmanship.

He said he would ensure that the Zongo Caucus plays an active role in the activities of the NDC to ensure that resources from all sectors of the party were utilised for the rebuilding of the NDC.

“The neglect of the Zongo Caucus and the grass root people who have sacrificed for the sustenance of the party will not be allowed to continue under my leadership,” he said.

Mr. Abodakpi, who filed his nomination forms on Tuesday, gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu at his office in Fadama in Accra to seek Allah’s blessing in his chairmanship endeavour.

“A lot will change in the party under my leadership, and I will make sure the Zongo caucus plays a key role in our development agenda.

“We need an NDC that values the contributions all members,” he said.

Mr. Abodakpi, a former Minister of Trade and Industry, who is highly optimistic of annexing the chairmanship, pledged to provide effective solutions to the challenges facing the party.

“I will be a solution driven chairman in building a new NDC,” he said.

According to him, the NDC needs dynamic leadership which he is committed to offer, to rejuvenate the rank and file of the party.

“We need an NDC with a strong leadership that will improve the fortunes of the party, and revive hopes and aspirations of the members,” he said.

He thanked the Chief Imam for his contribution to national development, peace and unity.

He said the NDC will continue to value his wise counsel, and gave the assurance of a strong collaboration after becoming chairman of the party.

Sheikh Sharabutu, after offering prayers for the Mr. Abodakpi, commended him for seeking divine guidance in his political contest.

He said because the aspirant has sought the face of Allah, his wishes would surely be granted.

“For seeking the face of Allah, victory is already yours,” he said.
