Abuga Pele confident of winning Chiana/Paga seat

Mr. Abuga Pele, National Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme has advised members of National Democratic Congress (NDC) to show their constituents love, respect and humility to ensure that the party retained power.

He claimed that majority of Ghanaians have “married” the ideology of the NDC and that the main ingredient to win more votes in the December polls was the need to continue to exhibit kindness towards the electorate.

Mr. Pele made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale after he had meetings with chiefs, opinion leaders and executive members of the party in the Upper East Region on Friday.

The meeting was to inform the people about the intention to commence his campaign in a bid to win back the Chiana/Paga seat that slipped to the New Patriotic Party in 2008, and to sell the ideals of the NDC to the electorate to vote for President John Evans Atta Mills to continue with the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

The communities Mr. Pele visited included Sirigu, Kandiga, Nabongo and Mirigu from the East Zone and Kayoro and Nakong in the West Zone of the constituency.

Mr. Pele said disunity, acrimony and the pull-him-down attitude caused the party to lose the seat to NPP and called on the NDC faithful to learn lessons from the defeat.

“There is a glimmer of hope this time round and I can confidently say that NPP has lost the seat.”

He said, “My humble plea to the constituents is that they should let us work in unity and if that is done the elections would be won easily. It serves everybody’s interest when we have NDC representation in Parliament.”**
