The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Fire Service, Ellis Robinson Okoe, has stated that his men are experiencing difficulties accessing the Ghana Revenue Authority building which has been gutted by fire.

According to him, although the Fire Service arrived within four minutes after a distress call, all entry doors had been locked.

Personnel had to break in to quench the fire which was fast spreading.

“Our challenge was access to the building. Access to the building is very important. All the doors have been locked so we must break in to get access to the fire so that’s exactly what my men are doing.” He said.

The PRO who said his outfit has what it takes to douse all the fire pleaded with the public to exercise patience with his men since they are working on a modus operandi to ensure the fire does not spread to other parts of the edifice.

In his words, “Everything is under control. This fire is not too big for us. Even bigger ones we have fought them so they should just exercise patience for us. We are going to douse the fire very soon.”
