Ace Ankomah settling personal scores – Woyome

Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has said Ace Ankomah, a member of pressure group OccupyGhana has personal scores to settle with him in connection with the GHS51.2million judgment debt paid to him.

His comment follows a claim by the group, of which Mr Ankomah is a member, that the government of Ghana awarded a new contract to Mr Woyome in December 2015 even though he has still not refunded the GHS51million judgment debt illegally paid him, which the Supreme Court has ordered him to refund to the state.

OccupyGhana in statement released on Friday, November 25 said it was “shocked, outraged and appalled to discover this: That while the nation is still reeling from the effect of the Alfred Woyome judgment debt scandal, and the stalled and hesitant attempts by the Attorney-General to execute the judgment of the Supreme Court, the Government of Ghana has, on the blind side of Ghanaians, entered into a ‘confidential’ and potentially lucrative agreement with Woyome, acting through one of his companies, Anator Holding Company Limited.”

But speaking in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Class91.3FM’s 505 on Friday, November 25, Mr Woyome said: “…He said it is a public document and he has gone to his website and spread all those things on his website and maliciously issued a statement on companies and entities through OccupyGhana, calculated to deceive the Ghanaian public to score political points and personal hatred [against] Alfred Woyome.

“I have not, and we have not signed any contract with the government of Ghana. What is over there…is a PPP arrangement.”
