Teachers and qualified non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) who are yet to receive their laptops under the government’s 'One Teacher, One Laptop' initiative are to generate their collection code by dialling 790555#.

A statement by the manufacturing firm in Accra on Wednesday also urges all such teachers and non-teaching staff to contact ICT coordinators in their respective regions or districts for assistance to enable them to receive their laptops.

The statement explains that even though almost 96 percent of all beneficiary teaching and non-teaching staff of GES have taken delivery of their laptops, the company is stepping up its efforts to ensure all outstanding beneficiaries in all parts of the country take advantage of the initiative as it brings the nationwide distribution to a close.

The company indicated that the creation of the collection shortcode is for audit purposes and to ensure that only eligible teaching and non-teaching staff are served.

Teachers in the Ashanti, Greater Accra, North East, Upper West, Upper East, Northern, and Savannah Regions are to activate their short code 790555# and contact their ICT coordinators from Thursday, July 25 to collect their laptops, while teachers and non-teaching staff in the remaining 10 regions are to go through the same process from Wednesday, July 30, 2024.
