Acute Fuel Shotage Hit Tamale

The acute shortage of fuel that hit the Tamale Metropolis since last week is deepening as most fuel feeling stations have still not had stock of the product. Only some few stations are dispensing fuel with vehicles forming long queues to purchase fuel. The situation has resulted into panic buying and hoarding of fuel, thus affecting the socio-economic activities of the residents.

The Northern regional police command last Tuesday mounted an inspections exercise on fuel feeling stations in the Metropolis and confiscated four drums of petrol at Tropical Oil filling station at Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale. Meanwhile the Northern regional Police Commander, ACP Ephraim Oko Brakatu has cautioned fuel feeling stations against hording and any act that would cause panic and disturbance in the area. He warned that the law would not spare anyone caught.!
