Ada is NPP Parliamentary candidate for Navrongo Central

Navrongo (U/E), Oct. 7, GNA - Mr Joseph Kofi Ada, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central constituency in the Upper East Region was on Tuesday confirmed as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Election 2004.

The 90 delegates at the primaries in accordance with the Party's policy to retain all its MPs, who were elected in by-elections, unanimously endorsed Mr Ada when Mr Nsobila Akankure, Official of the Electoral Commission (EC) asked whether they were in agreement.

Mr Ada thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him and asked them to remain united and focused on the interest of the Party. He advised them not to shun any disgruntled member of the Party but try to encourage all to come together and work for victory in the December polls.

"When we remain united and work together, then we can be sure of winning. We must be patient and tolerant of each other", he told the delegates.

The Upper East Regional Executive Members of the Party condemned what they referred to as the "independent candidates" as well as parliamentary candidates, who break off from the Party and urged members not to associate with nor vote for such people.

"If we are voting for our Presidential Candidate, Mr John Agyekum Kufuor, then we must also vote for the Party's choice of parliamentary candidate", they said.

Mr Mahami Salifu, Upper East Regional Minister, called on Party members not to take things for granted but to start a door- to- door campaign and also go to the remote areas to convince the people. He said the campaign period was a time for sacrifice by all so that the fruits of their labour would later be enjoyed after the December 7 Elections.

The introduction of streetlights on all major streets in Navrongo and the provision of 15 grinding mills for remote communities were mentioned as some of the achievements of Mr Ada.
