Adaklu declares support for Nana Addo

The Adaklu Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday declared support for the candidature of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the presidential candidate of the Party.

Executives from 18 polling stations out of 36 made the declaration at a news conference at Adaklu-Abuadi in Volta Region.

Mr Raybon Evans Anyadi, Chairman of the Constituency said the move was to prevent other candidates from “muddying the waters in the Constituency”.

“We are a small constituency in terms of numbers in the Volta Region and want to campaign as a united force, so we are declaring our support for Nana. We don’t want anyone else to come and muddy the waters here. We simply have no time for disunity and damage repairs,” he stated.

Mr Anyadi said Ghanaians knew Nana Addo as “president in waiting” so it is just normal for the Constituency to “fall flat” for him.

He said the Constituency is convinced that Nana Addo’s time to be president is now and called for support from all.

Madam Tina Mensah, Former National Deputy Women Organiser of NPP described Nana Addo as the “man of the moment who has proven to be a man of integrity and incorruptible”.

She said Nana Addo’s aim to be president of Ghana is to “leave a legacy in the country and not to gain anything”, and called for more than 90 per cent vote for him at the Party’s presidential congress scheduled for October 18.
