Adansi North District Chalks Success

The Adansi North District Assembly in the Ashanti region has been able to complete number of projects numbering about 100 in the last three and half years the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration assumed in office.
The District Assembly can today boast of number of infrastructural development in the areas of water and sanitation, school blocks, hospital, electricity and roads.
Speaking to the Al-Hajj in an interview, the District Chief Executive, Alhaji Abdul Lateef Majdoub said he inherited almost a collapsed district which had nothing to depend on.
He stated that people of the district were surprise about the rapid infrastructural development earmarked upon by the district since the NDC led by the Prof. Mills’ administration.
Alhaji Lateef who indicated that the Better Ghana Agenda can be felt all over the district with the increase enrollment of children into the basic schools, said about 6000 school uniforms were distributed to deprived areas whiles school feeding has been expanded from 4000 to 7,206 pupils in the deprived areas.
He added that about 5000 dual desks were distributed to upper primary schools and JHS and also 2000 mono desks to JHS which are mostly the exam centers including private schools benefited from the school desk and chairs.
Touching on road and electrification projects in the area, The DCE pointed out that upon assumption of office as Chief Executive, a number of deplorable roads which needed immediate attention were tackled. These include; Fomena district Capital road, the main trunk road from Ankrase to Assin Praso which is in progress and Ankrokerri college of Education Street.
He said in the rural electrification project, 8 communities were connected to the national grid and plans afre under way to have the rest connected. Communities connected to the grid including Kyekyewere, Medoma, Aboabo 1, Aboabo 2, Ahinsan and Fumso.
The Adansi North District is located in the Ashanti region of Ghana with the population of 120,000 people and has it district capital at Fomena, the traditional seat of Adansi state.
The District has 125 communities and is been divided into two constituencies namely; Adansi Asokwa and Adansi Fomena constituencies.
