The Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has announced that the Adentan-Dodowa Road Project is slated for completion by November 2024.

The project has experienced significant delays, eliciting complaints from both motorists and local residents.

During a working visit to the site on Thursday, May 30, 2024, the minister provided assurances that the project's completion is on track for the stated deadline.

He cited complications with the previous contractor and new developments along the route as the primary causes for the delay.

"The new contractor commenced work seven weeks ago and has already completed seven kilometers, focusing on extensive excavation and the construction of drainage facilities.

"I am greatly encouraged by the progress made thus far and am confident that they will adhere to the schedule. By November, motorists will begin to reap the benefits," he expressed.

Addressing the contractual issues, he added, "We've encountered problems with the existing contract.

"In response, I've consulted with my team, and we've decided to terminate the current contract. We will repackage the project and assign it to a new contractor. Rest assured, we will follow all necessary procedures to expedite the contractor's arrival on site," he stressed.
