Adiembra Community constructs basic school

The Adiembra Number Two community in the West Akim Municipality has began the construction of a basic school facility estimated at GH¢ 10,000.

Baffour Yentumi Ampofo II, Odikro of the community, is funding the facility, while the citizens of the community are offering communal work to ensure its early completion.

He said this during an inspection of the project with the Ghana News Agency.

The school block formed part of a three-year development plan launched earlier by the Odikro.

He said the amenities envisaged under the plan include reshaping of their feeder roads including those from Danso to Asuotwene.

The Odikro said others are the construction of coverts and demarcation of Adiembra Number Two lands which share common boundaries with Asikasu, Asuotwene, Okurase, Danso and Amarkrom.

The rest are provision of boreholes, clinic, construction of modern palace and an afforestation programme.

“Adiembra Number Two is a cluster of communities stretching over three kilometres, and children have to walk long distances to attend school and the classrooms would help improve upon teaching and learning”, she said.
