Adoagyiri enstool new chief

Adoagyiri (E/R), Nov. 14, GNA- Mr George Nana Twum, a

63-year-old businessman based in Canada was at the weekend

enstooled chief of Adoagyiri near Nsawam in the Akuapem South

District in the Eastern Region with the stool name, Nana

Dompreh II. Nana Dompreh II succeeds his grandfather Nana Dompreh

I, as the Adoagyirihene and the Ankobeahene of the Akim

Kotoku Traditional Area. He swore the oath of allegiance on Monday to Obrempong

Affum Affroten IV, Adontenhene of the Akim Kotoku Traditional

Area, who is also the Acting President of the Akim Kotoku

Traditional Council. Obrempong Affum Affroten advised Nana Dompreh to be law

abiding and show respect to both his kingmakers and his

people, and should be able to mobilize them for development

projects to uplift the town. Obrempong urged the new chief to help curb rug abuse and

social vices, especially among the youth and also tackle the

educational problems in the area. In his acceptance address, Nana Dompreh II thanked the

Obrempong for his advice, and said he would ensure there is

discipline in the area. He said his priority is education and promised that he would

soon set up education fund, which would be launched very soon

to help needy but bright children in the area. The swearing ceremony was performed at Akim Oda.
