Accra, Dec. 9, GNA - The National Media Commission (NMC) on Friday elected Mr Paul Adu-Gyamfi, the representative of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), as its new chairman.
A statement signed by Mr Joseph Dottey, Acting Executive Secretary, said the election was at an emergency meeting of the Commission in Accra.
He replaces Mr Wilson Kusi-Atansah, who resigned as chairman on Wednesday.
Mr Adu-Gyamfi was called to the Bar in October 1973. He was the National Secretary of the GBA from 1990-93; National Vice President from 1995-98 and President from 2001-2004.
He is a member of the Executive Council of the Pan-African Lawyers Union and member of the Board of Legal Education. He is also the First Vice President of the West African Bar Association. Mr Adu-Gyamfi was a member of the Legal Service Board between 1997 and 2001 and has been a member of the Judicial Council since 2002. He is married with four children.
