A 30-year old business woman, has been installed Queen-mother for Gomoa Adzintem under the stool Nana Beafuwah.
The outdooring ceremony of Nana Beafuwah, known in private life as Mrs. Mary Acquah, which coincided with the 2015 Akwambo Festival of the town on the theme: ”Development Through Recreation, ” was graced by chiefs from the Akyempim Traditional Council.
including the Omankrado of the Council, Nana Kwa Adofrakye, as well as a delegation from her Church, the Mozama Disco Christo Church.
Nana Beafuwah and Nana Duku Ewusie the Ninth, Omankrado of Gomoa Adzintem, were both carried in separate palanquins amidst fontomfrom drumming and brass band music, which started from their ancestral forest, and through the principal streets of the town to the durbar grounds.
She later took the oath of allegiance before Nana Asare Andoh, chief of the town, and the entire people, after all the necessary customary and traditional rites have been performed.
Nana Beafuwah expressed her profound gratitude to the chief, her family and people of the town, for the honour done her, and promised not to abuse their trust in her.
She pledged to use her skills and knowledge to support chiefs in the town to speed up the growth of the area, and added that since education is a key component towards the development of the country, there will be the need for parents to invest in their children's education.
Nana Kwa Adofrakye the Fifth, Omankrado of the Akyempim Traditional Council, advised the people to respect the chief and the queen-mother, and support them to develop the town.
He also advised the queen-mother not to lord her position over the people, but rather be humble and selfless, and serve them to facilitate the development of the town.
